Bringing Women Together for a More Equitable Future

Despite efforts to promote gender equality, women with a migrant background in Greece still face significant obstacles in accessing employment. In fact, according to Eurostat, Greece ranks last in employment rates of women with a migrant background. Investing in the education and skills of these women is critical for their active participation in the labor market and their success in a rapidly changing world.

To overcome these challenges and promote the active participation of migrant women in the labor market, the MOMENTUM project organized five participatory labs in Athens over the past five months. Representatives from over 10 entities related to migrant women and the labor market gathered to discuss collaborative actions to increase access to vocational training and employment. During this time, stakeholders recognized the significance of this multi-stakeholder network in achieving equal opportunities and decided to continue their work to create more opportunities for these women. Stakeholders also designed actions that will be implemented in the coming months.
